First of all, the operation takes a lot of getting used to, since the labeling of the keys is difficult to read and is on the back of the device. Otherwise, all the necessary connections are there and I was able to start dubbing a VHS cassette. Everything seemed to work, for the video recording, which was only a few minutes long, an approx. 60 MB file was created on the SD card. Then the rude awakening: trying to play the file resulted in the message "File open failed!" . The file was also not playable on other devices. After many more attempts, also with a different video recorder, the result is still the same. I was only able to claim one success: digitizing a LaserDisk worked perfectly. But that doesn't bring me anything other than the realization that the cable and digitizer somehow work, but somehow not for the intended use. A pity!
Update: After I complained about the digitizer and wanted to document the error described on video, the device suddenly worked perfectly. The transfer of a four-hour VHS cassette also worked perfectly. I have no idea what the initial problems were because nothing has changed in terms of the connection, the storage medium and the operation. Not because of the bad lettering and operation that takes some getting used to, so not quite the full score.
